Tallis Family Book

I am in the process (a really long process) of writing the history of the Tallis family. We are lucky in a way by having a rather unique surname making it easy to find information, however we suffer from the loss of information due to fires, lost records, and the variations in writing and documentation skills.
From time to time, I will be posting information on this site and attracting attention from those involved with our family history to comment and add to the research process. Since this covers family members long gone you will not see information about current generations here.
The outline of the book I am writing is here- Outline.pdf. As one can see, we go back into the 1500’s and work our way forward. As chapters and sections are done, we will be posting key pieces of information here. (It is a good incentive for me to put notes to finished products to share with the family). This book is intended for Tallis family members only and will not be offered to the general public. Sorry - this work is for the kids of the family!
I am still wrestling with the style of the book (the first section is Chapter1 final.pdf. I want to make it readable, interesting and with lots of graphics (I write with a lot of graphics!). Here we explore the Tallis name and early origins (at least our best guess)
The photo you see here is of William Talliss (yes, two “ss”) who was works foreman at Cadbury’s in Bournville, England and is the center of the research we have done on the family and is my great-grandfather. On the home page, one sees the photo (drawing) of Thomas Tallis, often called the Father of English Organ Music and often mentioned when one asks if we are related. Alas, Thomas died without issue and we have not established (proven) a link to his brother, Clement. In any case, Thomas deserves his own chapter just as do the sons of William who immigrated to Canada in 1903, the six who lost their lives in WWI, and many others who have helped form the spirit and history of the Tallis family.
Keep an eye out for this section, as I intend to have some fun with it while telling what I think is an important story.
Here is a chapter on the family setting in Warwick England. Recognize all these are drafts and still are being worked on. Chapter 3.pdf
William Talliss was the patriarch of the family - a chapter (under construction) is William Tallis.pdf.
The trip to Canada is also a major part of the story Chapter 5 latest.pdf.
