Art Work in Shows

Beginning in 2009, the Colored Pencil Society of America (CPSA) Explore This! exhibition became a juried online show. This change was made with the hope of allowing artists to display their work to a broader audience. By encouraging the exploration of materials we hope all artists, colored pencil artists or not, will be inspired to enter their artwork in this exhibition.

Explore This! will be held annually and acceptance into three shows within a 10-year period will earn a new signature designation, called CPX, for the artist. The winners of the top three awards will be invited to send their pieces for display in the CPSA International Exhibition for that year. In addition, a full-color issue of To The Point will showcase the accepted entries.

Fifty-five pieces of art were juried into this year’s show including one of my paintings. You can see the entire show at the CPSA site.

Sophie was juried into the “9 Show - a Canine and Feline Exhibit” to be held in April at LaSells Stewart Center in the Gustina Gallery.

Two paintings were accepted in a juried show here in the area during April and May, 2010. These paintings had to show some historical significance of locations in Linn and Benton County. My watercolor of Brownsville and one of Benton Hall on the OSU campus were accepted.

My colored pencil painting of Peggy’s Cove was accepted in the 18th Annual CPSA International Exhibition at the The Art Museum of Los Gatos
Los Gatos, CA from July 22 to August 20, 2010. This is my first painting to be selected for the International Show.
